The last exhibition for year
was hosted by the Railway Modellers Club of Queensland (RMCQ) at the South Pine
Sports Complex on the weekend of the 7-8th of December 2024.
It was a very hot
weekend, ceiling fans were the method of cooling in the exhibition display area
making thing not that comfortable. Over the past few years not a lot has
changed with the same layouts across most shows. The only variety being that
some exhibitors don’t attend all shows, some attend set shows and not others.
Many layouts will be the same as last year.
Having said that, there is the layouts in your
prototype and scale that you look forward to seeing again. Then there is the
other side of the coin, follow modellers who come to town one or twice a year
and it catch up time. Well, yes I did do a lot of talking and by 2:00pm the
voice was gone and time for lunch. And then with a bit more luck, there could
be something new that has been released for you to check out and maybe spend a
dollar or two.
The program/guide of 3 x
A4 pages showed 14 Traders and 31 Layouts, not all exhibitors were in their
spot on the map. Being an hobby exhibition, there was other displays.
